INBRE Thematic Investigator John Oakey Receives NSF Career Award

Wyoming INBRE Thematic Investigator John Oakey has received a prestigious National Science Foundation Career Award. Oakey, an assistant professor in Chemical Engineering,  has been reciving INBRE support for his project "High Throughput Screening of β-Cell Response to Encapsulation". The NSF award will provide funding for a project that focuses on biomaterials and cell types that are appropriate for the regeneration of structural tissues, such as cartilage and bone, but will ultimately be applicable to a variety of therapeutic scenarios.
